It’s been a lonely night for you, hasn’t it? It’s been a lonely night, and you breathe like the weight of the world is on your chest and it’s at the point where it physically hurts. Sometimes your head hurts from keeping your tears in for
so long. Sometimes you don’t even notice that it’s 4 in the morning because the numbing pain of crying so much has taken all your attention. Remember those nights where you wish you could sleep forever and just wish it all away?
That’s okay.

High school is a difficult feat for most. It may even be one of the hardest parts of our lives. It’s a completely new environment with new people and harder subjects, and with puberty and all the changes in your body, you’re bound to feel some sort of struggle when placed in a completely new situation and environment.

We’ve seen student after student think they’re alone and that the world is against them. So, ultimately, the purpose of this article is to tell you that you’re not alone. That you’re not the only one feeling this way. We know how hard it is to reach out for help, we’ve been there before. We understand the fear and anxiety of what people would think of you if you even showed the tiniest hint of needing help. This campus is full of people who are willing
to outstretch an arm and pull you out of that dark place. Whether it be our counselors, or subject teachers, or even other students who may have an easier time relating and understanding your struggles.

The point is, you don’t have to go through this alone. It takes time, it gets better. It may take weeks, or months, or even years, but one day the sun will shine on you once more, and you’ll be able to look back at yourself and
say you’ve made it.
