Letter From The Editor

Dear Reader,

What a privilege it is to welcome you to our inaugural issue of Among and Around. Over the last few months, our team has brainstormed, mindmapped, outlined, interviewed, written, revised, snapped, and corrected everything you now hold in your hands solely for the intrinsic benefit of creating this school paper. Our initial edition brings with it leaps over many unforeseen challenges and obstacles that our team of student-reporters, layout-designers, photographers, and editors have tirelessly poured their valuable time into.

To our parents, teachers, and staff members that sacrificed in order to help push this paper off the ground, we wholeheartedly express our gratitude.

This publication strives to provide an outlet for students wishing to express themselves in the written word in a way that may not fit into a traditional classroom setting. With the advent of a hard copy, school paper, Springfield students now have the opportunity to build a portfolio, discover a personal voice, learn new skills like investigative reporting, and find incentives outside of a numerical academic value system.

We express our thankfulness for your readership, support, and hope this issue serves your interests to inform, entertain, and elates our Springfield community by providing a source of pride.
